Giorgio Armani started out his career by attending medical school, before moving on to serve duty to the Italian Army. Following this, Armani had a brief spell working in photography before moving on to work at the famed Italian department store La Rinacente. During this time Armani spent nine years studying under the famed Italian designer Nino Cerruti, where he developed the hunger, style and flair that would eventually make the name Giorgio Armani the global success we know today. In 1974 Giorgio Armani launched his own menswear label which met with great critical acclaim and success, before following up with an equally impressive and successful ladies range.
